Disability Discrimination Audits relate to non-domestic premises including schools, hospitals, offices, pubs, hotels, public buildings, commercial and industrial premises. The whole drive behind the legislation is to ensure that an individual’s disability does not preclude them from enjoying the services offered in a premises or being employed within a building. The duty holder is responsible for making reasonable adjustments to the premises to ensure that no discrimination can take place within the premises they operate. The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 as amended by The Disability Discrimination Act 2005 and the Equality Act 2010 are the legal drivers for these compliance audits.
