PAS 7: 2013

WHAT IS PAS 7:2013?

This is a holistic fire risk management system which provides a framework for organisation wishing to formalise their fire risk management systems demonstrating compliance and a strategic approach to managing the risks posed by the threat of fire.  It was developed by by BB7 Fire Risk and Resilience with a steering group comprising:

• Association of British Certification Bodies
• Association of British Insurers
• S.Todd & Associates Ltd
• Chief Fire Officers Association
• Fire Sector Federation
• Institute of Fire Engineers
• Marsh Insurance
• National Association of Healthcare Fire Officers

This can apply to 3 main groups:

• Organisations that operate on multiple sites
• Separate management divisions within an organisation or
• Individual premises within a single organisation

The PAS can be adopted by any organisation wishing to formalise procedures to reduce the risk to life, property, assets and the environment which can be associated with fire, within a work place setting.  It has been designed to complement the existing Fire Risk Assessment system PAS 79, and other related management systems such as OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety Management)
